Wendy Hansen, BA, MFT Clinical Intern

Wendy Hansen – Professional Background

she/her/hers

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University. I am passionate about continuous professional growth and regularly seek new knowledge to stay up-to-date with the latest therapeutic practices. Additionally, I am a Clinical Member of both the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT).

With years of volunteer experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. My deep appreciation for human connection and genuine curiosity about the lived experiences of others is central to my approach. In my sessions, I focus on active listening, empathy, and providing a compassionate, warm environment.

Specialization and Focus

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I have a special interest in working with clients navigating faith transitions and managing life transitions, particularly in the perinatal space. I am also interested in working with clients experiencing grief and loss, trauma, and anxiety.

Therapeutic Approach

I employ a client-centered, strength-based, and humanistic approach to therapy. I firmly believe in the inherent worth of every individual and aim to help you rediscover your own. I am dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment where my clients feel understood, accepted, and supported. Together, we will navigate your challenges and uncover the strength and resources within you to achieve your goals.

When I’m not doing therapy…

In my personal life, I cherish spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, biking, and playing pickleball. When indoors, I love dancing, baking, reading, and playing games. Exploring new places and cultures through travel is another passion of mine.
