Eddie Medina – Professional Background

he/him/his

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. My focus is on creating an authentic and down-to-earth therapy experience where clients feel truly seen, supported, and empowered.

Since 2018, I’ve worked with teens, adults, and couples, helping them navigate trauma, mental health challenges, and relationships. I’m passionate about fostering healing and self-discovery for people who feel stuck or disconnected.

As a proud Mexican-American, I bring cultural sensitivity and a deep appreciation for diverse identities into my work. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s about finding what works for you.

Specialization and Focus

I specialize in working with adolescents, adults (15-50), and their partners. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, or relationship challenges, I help clients work through the tough stuff while building confidence, resilience, and clarity.

With couples, I focus on improving communication, deepening connections, and creating a safe space for growth. Relationships are tough, but they’re worth the work.

Being a dad to five kids has taught me a lot about patience, adaptability, and keeping it real—all of which influence my approach to therapy. I understand the value of making each moment count, whether it’s in your relationships or your own self-growth.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach blends evidence-based methods and holistic practices to meet your unique needs. My toolkit includes:

CBT and DBT for practical strategies and emotional regulation.

IFS and EFT to explore emotions, relationships, and the inner self.

Attachment-based, trauma-informed, and humanistic approaches for deeper healing.

Existential and transpersonal therapy for finding purpose and meaning.

I focus on connection, trust, and building a space where you can explore who you are and what you need. Therapy is about growth, but it’s also about being heard without judgment.

When I’m not doing therapy…

Outside of therapy, I’m all about family, nature, and music. I love spending time with my kids, watching live shows, and exploring the outdoors, especially in the water.

I believe in finding joy in new challenges and keeping life balanced, whether it’s hiking, jamming out, learning about something interesting, or making the perfect burrito at home.
